Jamahal Hill is injured again. Jan Blachowicz may face a quick comeback with a fight against Khalil Rountree at the UFC Gala in Kansas.
News broke yesterday that Jamahal Hill is struggling with a leg injury which has forced him to withdraw from the UFC gala in Kansas. The former UFC champion was scheduled to fight Khalil Rountree on April 26. This was a very important clash for the ranking system of the welterweight category.
This is not the first time that Hill’s fight with Rountree will not take place. The fighters were first matched against each other last year at UFC 303 but then Rountree was briefly suspended for using a tainted supplement.
Of course, the situation may open a gateway and give other fighters a chance to jump onto the roster. Among the potential replacements mentioned is Aleksandar Rakić, who is training in Serbia with fighters familiar with the FNC cage after returning from a camp in Thailand.
The replacement could also be sought by Jan Blachowicz, who admittedly hasn’t had the best streak in the UFC lately, but is still ranked very high and could be another excellent test for Khalil Rountree.
The Pole so far did not address the possibility of a quick comeback, while just after the fight with Ulberg he mentioned that he is healthy and wants to fight another bout this year.
