Jan Błachowicz briefly commented on the loss: “Another one for the collection.”

Jan Błachowicz was unable to break his losing streak. The former UFC light heavyweight champion lost by TKO to Navajo Stirling at UFC Belgrade, and posted a brief message on social media after the fight.

The Polish fighter entered Saturday’s event hoping for his first victory since 2022. Instead of the much-anticipated breakthrough, however, fans witnessed a painful defeat. The undefeated Navajo Stirling knocked out the “Prince of Cieszyn” in the very first round, securing the most valuable victory of his career to date.

Błachowicz lost a fight by technical knockout for the first time since 2019. Despite the disappointing result, he did not offer any lengthy comments. He posted only a brief message on his social media profiles.

The former UFC champion’s situation is getting tougher

The loss in Belgrade further complicates Jan Błachowicz’s situation. In his last five fights, the former UFC champion has not recorded a single victory, suffering three losses and two draws. This stands in stark contrast to the period when he reigned as the light heavyweight champion and was among the world’s elite.

The Pole’s greatest achievement remains winning the UFC championship belt and successfully defending it against Israel Adesanya. He later lost the title to Glover Teixeira, and since then, Błachowicz has been unable to return to the very top of the division.

“The Prince of Cieszyn” scored his most recent victory over Aleksandar Rakic, who was unable to continue the fight due to a knee injury. In the following years, the Polish fighter drew with Magomed Ankalaev and Bogdan Guskov, and lost to Alex Pereira, Carlos Ulberg, and Navajo Stirling.

It cannot be ruled out that, following the update to the UFC Meta rankings, Błachowicz will fall out of the top 15 in the light heavyweight division for the first time in many years. He was ranked 13th prior to the event in Belgrade.

The situation is completely different for Navajo Stirling. For the City Kickboxing fighter, the victory over the former UFC champion is the greatest achievement of his professional career. Many experts believe that the New Zealander will quickly be presented with more major challenges, and if he maintains the form he displayed in Belgrade, he may soon join the fight for the top spots in the light heavyweight division.
