Jan Blachowicz lost to Carlos Ulberg after a very even fight at the UFC gala in London.

Jan Blachowicz and Carlos Ulberg faced each other in the second fight of the evening at the UFC gala in London. The duel was contracted for three rounds in the welterweight division limit. As a former UFC champion, Jan Blachowicz was one of the two biggest stars of Saturday’s event.

The Pole knew that a win before time in a clash with a highly ranked opponent could even get him a fight for the belt against Magomed Ankalaev. Ulberg realized that defeating the former champion could open the way to even bigger fights.

The fighters started with an exchange of low kicks. Quick on his feet, Ulberg moves quickly and tries to surprise the Pole with a long left straight. Both fighters put a lot of power into low kicks. Good straight by Ulberg. Carlos attempted a high kick. Jan Blachowicz hits with powerful lowkicks. The former champion brought out a high kick however Ulberg took it on the guard. Both fighters kicked powerfully. Exchange of punches in the stand-up. Nice accurate left of Carlos at the end of the round.

Carlos Ulberg comes in with a strong series of punches to open the second round. Blachowicz was looking to land a kick, which the New Zealander blocked, but the Pole nicely added a right straight to the action. Jan Blachowicz hits a good right, Ulberg counters with a short punch. Carlos hits a strong knee to which Janek responds with a good right. The New Zealander begins to turn up the pace and increasingly trenches the Pole’s kicking leg. Ulberg bites with quick straights. Janek hits with a strong kick. Carlos wanted to turn up the pace at the end of the round, but he didn’t hit any of his punches.

Both fighters do a lot of touchdowns as far as fist punches are concerned however there are definitely more kicks. Good long straight by Ulberg. Carlos hits a right to the Pole’s body. Both the New Zealander and Blachowicz hit with short lefts. Good counter punch by Ulberg. Janek moves with a series of punches, however, the rival escapes to the side. Great exchange of punches at the end of the duel.
