Jan Blachowicz on Ankalaev’s chances in fight with Alex Pereira

Jan Blachowicz commented on Magomed Ankalaev’s chances against Alex Pereira. The former UFC champion suggested the changes the Dagestan needs.

Magomed Ankalaev defeated Aleksandar Rakic at the end of October and is still ranked as the top contender in the welterweight category. This means that, probably in the near future, fans will have the opportunity to see the Dagestanian in a fight with Alex Pereira for the UFC championship belt.

Jan Blachowicz gave an interview to Home of Fight. The Pole was asked about Ankalaev’s attitude and the Dagestan’s chances in a fight with Poatan. The former UFC champion commented on the subject.

– If Ankalaev fights like he did in his last bout with Rakic he will lose the fight. He needs to do something more. He’s a good fighter, but fighting like this won’t beat Pereira, he’ll have to change something.

Magomed Ankalaev has promised to knock out Alex Pereira. Jan Blachowicz does not necessarily believe in such a development. The Pole reproached his former rival for those words.

– He said the same thing before the fight with Rakic. He announced that we would see a new Ankalaev. However, everyone saw how boring that fight was, I almost fell asleep at it. Also, if he talks like that again he will give a boring fight again.

Asked to name a favorite in this duel, Blachowicz was quick to respond.

– Three fights back I would have bet on Ankalaev, but now I’m betting on Pereira winning.

The UFC organization has not yet officially announced the Pereira vs Ankalaev fight. However, another appearance by Jan Blachowicz has been announced. The Pole will return to the octagon on March 22 at the UFC gala in London. Jan Blachowicz will face Carlos Ulberg.
