Jan Blachowicz recalled the toughest loss of his career. The former UFC champion still can’t get over the style in which he lost the belt.

Jan Błachowicz is one of the absolute top Polish MMA fighters when it comes to achievements recorded in the cage. Blachowicz was a KSW federation champion, and then achieved success overseas by winning the UFC championship belt in the welterweight division. Błachowicz is still an active fighter, however, he can already be confidently considered one of the legends of the Polish MMA scene.

Jan Blachowicz was Grzegorz Krychowiak ‘s guest on the RMF Bro podcast. During the long conversation, Janek was asked by the Polish national soccer player about the toughest loss of his career.

Jan Blachowicz recalls the toughest loss of his career

Jan Blachowicz, in an interview with Grzegorz Krychowiak at RMF Bro, talked about the toughest loss of his career.

– How I lost the belt (with Glover). To this day I can’t get over it. I can lose, but the way I lost… You can say that I gave away the championship belt for free, and that hurts me a lot.

Jan Blachowicz stressed that it was not a good time to return to the octagon and he should not have fought the bout with Glover Teixeira in the first place.

– I don’t like to make excuses. I should not have come out for this fight on that date. It was not the time to fight, any fight, with anyone at that time, and it fell on defending the belt. I felt terrible. I was counting on luck, on the so-called lucky punch, that it would work out. I hoped that it would work out.

Jan Blachowicz hasn’t had much luck lately and is undoubtedly one of the UFC’s most unlucky fighters. The Pole has scored two draws and two losses in his last four starts although he might as well have had four wins to his credit if the judges had scored the fights more sensibly.
