Jiri Prochazka has again mentioned the Pole among potential rivals, the Czech is eager to clash with Jan Blachowicz for the title of King of Europe.
Jiri Prochazka and Jan Blachowicz are both former UFC light heavyweight champions. Both the Czech and the Pole have not yet said their last word in the up to 93 kilograms division, and it is possible that their paths will soon cross.
Jiri Prochazka knocked out Jamahal Hill in his last appearance and proved that he still has championship aspirations. The Czech is currently ranked second in the UFC rankings. Just a position below him is Jan Blachowicz, who owes Prochazka a small promotion one position up.
Jan Blachowicz faces a tough challenge in the form of a clash with good hitter Carlos Ulberg. The 42-year-old Pole will face a rival seven years younger at a gala in London. If the Pole defeats the New Zealander he will return to the championship belt showdown.
Jiri Prochazka commented on a possible clash for the King of Europe title in the Overdogs podcast.
– As I said, there are three guys in the TOP 5 that I see as a challenge. And these are the only fights I want. The first is, of course, Alex. Then Ankalaev. And the third one, which we have already discussed, is Jan Blachowicz.
The Czech mentioned that Legendary Polish Power gave a solid fight against Alex Pereira and was the only light heavyweight who not only made it to a decision against Poatan which also gave the Brazilian problems during the clash.
– He gave a very good duel with Alex. One of the three for me. Now, this year, it doesn’t matter to me who, because I know I’m heading to the top now. Just give me some rival. I want to prove it. I want to show that I am the champion.
