Jiri Prochazka has once again proven that he is considered one of the most unconventional fighters in the entire UFC for good reason. A video has surfaced online showing the former light heavyweight champion calmly… strolling through a patch of nettles.

The “Czech Samurai” last fought for the light heavyweight championship belt against Carlos Ulberg. The Czech fighter performed very well for a long time, and luck seemed to favor him even more when the New Zealander suffered a knee injury. Sam Prochazka later admitted that he had noticed his opponent’s injury but deliberately chose not to take advantage of it. Ultimately, this approach did not pay off—Ulberg weathered the tough moment and later knocked out the former champion.

Prochazka’s Unusual Workout. This Time, He Chose… Nettles

Jiri Prochazka has long been known for his highly original training methods. In the past, he has spoken about meditating in complete darkness, prolonged seclusion, and training designed to strengthen not only the body but, above all, the mind. This time, he decided to surprise his fans once again.

A video has surfaced on social media showing “Denisa,” wearing nothing but boxer shorts—or shorts rolled up very high—without a moment’s hesitation… In fact! With a bow! He steps into a thicket of nettles and lets the plants lash his body.

Although this sight may seem downright painful, contact with stinging nettles has been used for years in certain natural therapies. Proponents of this practice believe that brief skin irritation can stimulate circulation, improve blood flow to the muscles, and have a hardening effect on the body. However, scientific evidence supporting the effectiveness of such methods is limited, which is why they remain primarily part of traditional medicine and individual practices.

One thing, however, remains the same—Jiri Prochazka is still one of the most colorful figures in the world of MMA. Regardless of his athletic results, the Czech fighter regularly reminds us that his approach to life and training differs significantly from that of most fighters. And that is precisely why, for many fans, the “Czech Samurai” remains one of the most fascinating figures in the entire UFC.
