Joanna Jedrzejczyk candidly commented on the topic of the UFC organization’s potential next gala in Poland.
As a former UFC champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk has many contacts both inside and outside the organization. The Pole recently made dreams come true for Jakub Wikłacz and Robert Ruchała which both signed contracts with UFC.
On the occasion of an interview with the Kanał Sportowy about the aforementioned two former KSW champions, Jedrzejczyk spoke on the potential return of the UFC organization to Poland. The UFC Hall of Fame member does not have good news for fans.
– Every now and then I ask around and there really are no plans. This is one big business. Cities like Warsaw, or Krakow, or Gdansk don’t have that kind of promotional budget. Why does the UFC periodically come back to London in March, Paris in September, Abu Dhabi, because the cities pay the UFC to be present, because they see the business, from taxes to accommodations, revenues from people who will visit a city, a country thanks to the UFC.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk has provided two very interesting pieces of information. It turns out that one Polish company wants to become a UFC sponsor. In addition, someone from the political scene is also interested in bringing the UFC organization to Poland again.
– I guess this is where some kind of proposal should come out from a big Polish sponsor, although I know such talks are going on to have one of the Polish companies be a sponsor of the UFC. Something big, I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Although I did hear back from one politically connected person, because some desire to bring the UFC to Poland came out. I have put these people in touch with the UFC. At what stage the talks are, I don’t know. I don’t foresee a UFC gala in Poland in the next 12 or 24 months, and I would like to.
Finally, at the end, the former champion indicated that although she would like the UFC organization to come to Poland again, she does not believe it will happen in the next two years.
