Joanna Jedrzejczyk has once again commented on the situation of Robert Ruchala and Jakub Wikłacz. The former champion assures that the UFC contract will come.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk is representing Robert Ruchala and Jakub Wikłacz during contract negotiations with the UFC organization. The former champion of the world’s best MMA league in the strawweight category is well aware of the realities at the UFC office.
Robert Ruchała fought his last fight in November at KSW 100. Jakub Wikłacz has been waiting for his next fight for much longer, as he fought his last fight in June 2024 at KSW 95. Ruchała is a former KSW interim champion in the featherweight division, while Wikłacz was a full-fledged champion of the featherweight division.
MMA fans in Poland, however, are beginning to grow impatient, with journalists asking Asia time and again about the current status of talks with the UFC. Jedrzejczyk assured before the London gala that preliminary offers had come in.
Jedrzejczyk on Ruchala and Wikłacz situation
Joanna Jedrzejczyk gave an interview to Patryk Prokulski of TVP Sport. During the lengthy conversation, the Pole again referred to Ruchała and Wikłacz’s contract situation.
– I hope we won’t have to wait much longer. We have received another assurance. I for one am calm about it, although I myself am impatient, because I would like to have these contracts already.
Asia Jedrzejczyk reassures fans and stresses that all that remains is the signing of contracts. The athlete, who ends her career in 2022, previously conveyed to Robert and Jakub that they must be patient.
– Reassuring everyone, the contract will come and we have these assurances, we are waiting for the final signing of the documents and these are not just promises. When Robert or Kuba came asking to be involved in the UFC, I said: gentlemen, you need to be patient. I know this from experience.
The former UFC champion mentioned that she had helped other Poles get into the UFC in the past, and it took a long time then, too.
– I helped somewhere Mateusz Gamrot or Robert Bryczek, who I signed to the UFC. Sometimes it really comes down. I told them to be patient for up to six months, and I think my words came true.
