Joanna Jędrzejczyk reveals behind-the-scenes talks with UFC on Wikłacz and Ruchała’s contracts

Joanna Jędrzejczyk has revealed the behind-the-scenes of contract talks with the UFC over the contracts of Jakub Wikłacz and Robert Ruchała.

Yesterday, the highly anticipated news finally came out that Jakub Wikłacz and Robert Ruchała have tied up contracts with the UFC organization. The duo of former KSW championship belt holders made their way to the best MMA league in the world with the help of Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

The former UFC strawweight champion decided to start working as a manager after her professional career ended, and represented Wikłacz and Ruchała during talks with the UFC. By the way, this is not the first time Joanna has supported Polish fighters in this way. In the past Jedrzejczyk helped both Mateusz Gamrot and Robert Bryczek.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk talked about how discussions with the UFC went during a special online talk with the Kanał Sportowy.

Jedrzejczyk on Wikłacz and Ruchała’s UFC contracts

Joanna Jedrzejczyk has revealed the behind-the-scenes of her contract negotiations with UFC matchmakers. As it turns out, the Pole’s well-known name and track record didn’t help much when Wikłacz and Ruchała were getting along on their contracts.

– Sean Shelby, despite the fact that this is me, did not look favorably on Robert and Jakub, and he does not care that the men are great fighters, that they are former champions of the KSW organization, that they have defended world titles. This is due to the fact that the UFC has changed its business model a little bit, including through Dana White’s Contender Series.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk stressed that it is definitely harder to talk to the UFC nowadays due to the fact that the organization maintains contracts with almost twice as many fighters as in the past.

– These negotiations were difficult. It’s harder to talk to the UFC than in the days when I was negotiating my contracts, or helping Mateusz Gamrot, or negotiating Robert Bryczek’s contract. When I was fighting there were 500 fighters. I still thought there were more than 600. At the moment there are more than 900 fighters.

Finally, Asia pointed out that one should not expect quick debuts for Wikłacz and Ruchała in the UFC. The talented former KSW champions will have to wait for their chance.

– I said that we have to set ourselves up for a long wait, now we will also wait for the fights, although the men must be on standby. Contracts are higher than recent proposals in KSW.

The manager, however, is satisfied that the fighters will earn more than what they were previously offered by the organization run by Kawulski and Lewandowski.
