Joe Rogan criticizes: “UFC wasted an opportunity by choosing Power Slap over kickboxing”

Joe Rogan has criticized the UFC organization, with the commentator claiming that a mistake was made in deciding to promote Power Slap instead of kickboxing.

Joe Rogan has not been a fan of Power Slap from the very beginning. The American admitted that while he is usually captivated by Dana White’s ideas, in this case, despite having seen several events, it is not something that would captivate him.

During the latest episode of the Fight Companion program aired during the UFC gala in London, the popular commentator once again said that he is not a fan of Power Slap. Joe Rogan said that the UFC organization’s headliners made a mistake by choosing proverbial slap fights instead of kickboxing events.

– I think the UFC wasted an opportunity when they decided to do Power Slap. I have been telling them for a long time “you should get into kickboxing”. If one is a fan of stand-up fights, today’s kickboxing has crazy knockouts, it’s not boring like it used to be.

Joe Rogan mentioned the name of an organization whose galas he follows regularly. It turns out that the American commentator is a big fan of GLORY.

– Kickboxing fights with MMA gloves in a cage would be something huge. Simply such a dedicated segment in the UFC just for strikers. GLORY has elite fighters. I watch their galas all the time and they are damn exciting. The problem is that no one knows these fighters and consequently no one in our country watches it.

Both Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya have a past in the GLORY organization. The fighters who can confidently be considered top stars of the UFC organization especially as far as the number of PPV sales is concerned once fought in the kickboxing ring.

Undoubtedly, Rogan’s idea makes a lot of sense, as lately various federations are increasingly organizing kickboxing and muay thai fights right in the cage, with fighters donning small MMA gloves for the duels.
