Jon Jones suffered a foot injury in preparation for the UFC 309 gala, and the heavyweight champion posted a video that worried his fans.
Jon Jones is set to return to the octagon of the UFC organization on Saturday, November 16. The former light-heavyweight champion and current royal division champion will fight Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. At stake in the fight, of course, will be the heavyweight championship belt.
Jon Jones has posted some footage online of his recent training sessions. In the latest video footage, Jones shields with one of his trainers. Fans were immediately concerned to see that Jon has two toes of his foot wrapped in a bandage or patch.
It is possible that the American acquired a finger injury or smashed a nail during kicks, which is a common problem for MMA fighters. Jon Jones did not write anything about the nature of the injury, he only posted a brief note indicating that he intends to defend his UFC championship belt.
The Jones vs. Miocić fight was supposed to happen as early as last year, but then Jon pulled out of the gala due to a serious injury. Jones tore his pectoral muscle and had to undergo surgery and a long rehabilitation, during which he also underwent elbow surgery.
It now seems that the champion will need a few days to recover and there is nothing to prevent him from entering the octagon at UFC 309.
