Jon Jones does not rule out vacating the heavyweight category belt. The champion announced a meeting and negotiations at the UFC office.

Jon Jones is the heavyweight champion of the UFC organization. Jones defended his title at UFC 309 in New York, where he knocked out Stipe Miocic in the third round of the fight. The American recorded a confident victory, however, the level of the fight itself did not thrill the fans.

Jon Jones insists on his own and wants to fight Alex Pereira. The long-time champion of the welterweight division, who currently sits on the throne of the royal division, dreams of fighting a standup fighter who is of a similar age.

Both UFC flagbearers and fans, however, see this as a runaway success against Tom Aspinall, the interim heavyweight champion, who is a more versatile and bigger-bodied fighter than Alex Pereira.

One fan asked Jon a question about his future plans and potential retirement. Here is what Jon Jones wrote.

– Most likely, I’ll vacate the belt before I officially end my career. We will see what course the UFC will take.

The heavyweight champion’s entry may suggest to fans what Jones has mentioned before. Bones has mentioned more than once that for the fight with Poatan he is even ready to vacate the title of the royal division. We probably won’t know more about the outcome of Jones’ negotiations with Dana Whit and Hunter Campbell until the new year.
