Jorge Masvidal has commented on the fight with Leon Edwards. According to the experienced American, the Englishman did not accept the offer made by the UFC.
Jorge Masvidal, during an interview with Inside Fighting, relayed that he has received an offer to return from the UFC organization. At stake would be a big clash with Leon Edwards. The fighters have been in conflict for years, so such a duel would sell well in the media.
Masvidal claims that an official offer was on the table however Edwards refused to fight the Miami fighter. Jorge is not happy about this.
– We can finally do it. You’re no longer the champion, and I’m c**a available. He says he would have an easy fight with me, so come and do the job. I’m the biggest box office name here. Me and Leon, if he wants fumes, let’s do it to the ch**a. The UFC offered me a fight with him however he refused.
When reading Masvidal’s statement, we must take into account the fact that quite recently Dana White, when asked about “Gamebred”, conveyed that we probably won’t see Jorge in the octagon anymore. Everything may have changed in recent weeks, however, it’s no secret that Edwards has nothing to gain by fighting Masvidal, other than raking in a lavish payday, of course.
