Josh Barnett strongly criticized Gaethje and Pimblett; according to the former champion, the fighters brawled like a pair of rookies.
Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett thrilled the crowd with their impressive clash in the evening fight of the UFC 324 gala in Las Vegas. The winner of the duel was Gaethje, who managed to outpoint the Englishman and in the process exposed his weaknesses.
However, it turns out that not everyone liked the duel. Josh Barnett former UFC heavyweight champion strongly criticized both participants in the clash. The Warmaster did not spare any tart words comparing the top lightweights to rookies.
– Wow, this was one of the worst UFC main events in recent memory. Two dynamic guys capable of ending fights before time beat each other like a pair of rookies. A terrible spectacle dragging on for five nightmarish rounds. This fight should have been in the prelims.
From Barnett’s words it is clear that he expected to finish before time in this bout. Josh is one of the forerunners of world MMA, and you have to give him credit for the fact that out of 43 fights he fought, as many as 34 bouts involving him ended before time.
