Justin Gaethje, with a brief statement, shut the mouths of everyone who expected Mateusz Gamrot to replace Dan Hooker at UFC 313.
Justin Gaethje will face Rafael Fiziev at UFC 313. The fighters will fight a rematch bout. Originally, the American’s opponent was to be Dan Hooker. However, the New Zealander picked up a hand injury while sparring and had to withdraw from the fight at the gala, which will take place on March 8 in Las Vegas.
Matthew Gamrot even after the official announcement of the replacement by the UFC referred to Justin Gaethje’s entry and commented on it with words.
– You knew that I was ready to make weight and fight at a distance of five rounds. Someday we will meet.
Justin Gaethje gave an extensive interview to Shak MMA, where he addressed all the speculation regarding contract negotiations. Discouraged by the whole situation, the American at one point decided to disassociate himself from the talks and left the final decision in the hands of his manager and training staff.
– At the end of the day, I conveyed to the coaches and manager that I didn’t want to take part in the decision-making. I really didn’t participate in the vast majority of these (contract) talks. I only indicated to them the rivals I want to fight.
In the end, Justin Gaethje stuck a pin and briefly but critically summed up those who expected that Mateusz Gamrot could jump in as a replacement for the UFC 313 schedule.
– Everyone is talking about Gamrot, of course, but… You’re a fool if you think Gamrot will be a replacement for Hooker for the UFC.
