Karlos Vemola will defend his light heavyweight championship belt at the Octagon 65 gala. The champion will face Will Fleury on December 29 in Prague.
Karlos Vemola and Will Fleury will face each other in the second fight of the evening of the Octagon 65 gala in Prague. The experienced Czech will take on the battle-hardened Irishman on his own turf. The duel is contracted for five rounds, as are two other championship bouts that will also take place on December 29 at the O2 Arena.
Karlos Vemola has done well in recent fights in the light heavyweight division. However, it is worth noting that, apart from Attila Vegh, his rivals in this weight category were not among the most well-known fighters.
The Octagon MMA champion, on the other hand, lost fights against fighters fighting in a lower weight class. Terminator succumbed to both Patrik Kincla and Samuel Kristofici. A possible loss of the belt at the December gala in Prague will significantly reduce the 39-year-old veteran’s chances of making his next big fights.
Will Fleury is undefeated in his last seven appearances. It should be remembered that the Irishman was among a large group of fighters who were busted for doping after the PFL galas in April 2023. After parting ways with the American organization, Fleury found his way back to the Octagon where he has already recorded two wins before time this year.
The SBG representative will have the advantage of physical conditions in the clash with the Czech. Fleury is also four years younger than Vemola. At the end of December we will find out which fighter will raise his hand in the air in a gesture of triumph.
