Karlos Vemola will sign a contract with KSW? Sports director comments [VIDEO]

Some time ago it was reported that Karlos Vemola had received a contract offer from KSW. Now the federation’s sports director comments on these reports.

Karlos Vemola is a living legend of the Czech MMA scene. The fighter made a name for himself with great fights in the British Isles in 2008-2009, thanks to which he signed a contract with the UFC. However, his career in the best MMA league in the world did not go the Czech’s way, as he alternated victories with defeats and was eventually released.

As it was to turn out later, however, Vemola was just getting rolling, and after a couple of wins in XFN where he fought in main events at the Czech Republic’s largest arena, the O2 Arena, he signed on with Oktagon MMA. In the Czech-Slovak organization he had the opportunity to move to an even bigger venue and twice appeared in the fights of the evening of galas held at the Slavia Prague football stadium.

Michal Tuszynski conducted an interview with Wojslaw Rysiewski. The host asked in the FanSport TV studio whether the information of Czech trade media is true and whether KSW federation actually made an offer to Karlos Vemola. KSW sports director commented.

– I would be skeptical of these media reports. Let’s remember that Karlos Vemola fought twice in the main events of the Octagon galas at the Prague stadium. He is their fighter at the level of probably Mamed (legend status). He’s also sportingly made up this Czech scene for years. This media hype is primarily for him to negotiate a better contract for himself in the Octagon, and I see it that way.

Octagon boss Ondrej Novotny said that Karlos Vemola would have no one to fight in KSW. Wojslaw Rysiewski also addressed this statement.

– There is some truth in that, well, because he wouldn’t stand a chance against fighters like Haratyk, Khuzhigaev, Wojcik, Piwowarczyk. And on the other hand, he is also too strong for Artur Szpilka or Mariusz Pudzianowski.

Summing up the topic of Karlos Vemola in KSW, it seems that these are rather gambits on the part of the Czech’s management, who spread rumors across our southern border so as to boost the value of their fighter.
