Karolina Kowalkiewicz addressed the fans after losing to Denise Gomes. The Pole apologized to her fans.
Unfortunately, Saturday night was not a successful one for Polish female fighters in the UFC. First, at the UFC Vegas 100 gala Klaudia Syguła lost, and later at this event Karolina Kowalkiewicz recorded a loss on her account.
The American Top Team fighter addressed the fans after losing to Denise Gomes. Karolina thanked the fans for their support. Kowalkiewicz apologized for the result and admitted that her heart is broken.
– Hi everyone. I’m very sorry. Thanks for your support. As you can see everything is fine, only my heart is broken. I had a great camp, the weight cutting went perfectly. I felt very good and was in good shape, but my opponent is better. Big congratulations to her, she did a good job. Give me some time and see you soon.
For the 39-year-old from Łódź, it was the second consecutive defeat in the UFC octagon. Although Karolina fared well in the clash with Gomes it was clearly evident the physical advantage of her rival, who also had more punching power.
Later, Karolina posted a second entry aimed at her supporters.
– If you work hard for something and don’t achieve your goal, you have the right to be sad and angry. I am sad, but I am also happily grateful that I can do what I love. Losing fights is part of the sport. I won’t look for excuses… Denise was better, I congratulate her on her win and wish her good luck in her future career. UFC thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of you. I hope you will see me again in the octagon sooner than you think.
