One fan asked if Karolina Kowalkiewicz would move to the flyweight category. The American Top Team fighter quickly answered the fan’s question.
Karolina Kowalkiewicz has been competing in the strawweight category for years, fighting in the UFC organization. Some fans probably forgot that at the beginning of her professional career she fought in a slightly higher weight limit. Kowalkiewicz fought her debut fight at a limit of up to 60 kilograms (132 pounds). It was an unusual limit, as the Pole could weigh a little less than the nominal weight of the cockerel category.
Later, after signing a contract with KSW, Kowalkiewicz fought several fights at limits of up to 121 and 119 pounds, i.e. up to 55 and 54 kilograms, respectively. Since KSW 27, Karolina has competed exclusively in the strawweight category limit of 115 pounds. It was in this division that Kowalkiewicz achieved her status as a contender for the UFC belt and fought a championship bout.
Karolina held a small Q&A session on her Instagram profile. One of the fans asked the Pole about the change of weight category suggesting a move to the flyweight division. Karolina Kowalkiewicz responded.
– I feel comfortable in the straw category.
