Kevin Lee has announced in recent weeks that he is ready to pick up the gauntlet and compete in Dana White’s Contender Series program . The American is vying for a return to the UFC organization, where he even had an opportunity to fight for the interim lightweight championship belt.
Perhaps the office of the best MMA league in the world decided that this was not the right time for it, and Kevin’s dream has not materialized for the time being. Instead, there was the unexpected news that Lee had tied himself to a contract with Gamebred MMA.
To begin his adventure with Jorge Masvidal‘s organization, Kevin Lee will face Saul Almeida. The Brazilian native and Boston-based fighter has fought mostly boxing bouts in recent years. The Bellator and WSOF veteran has fought just three fights in MMA since July 2019. In his last appearance, he lost to Nick Fiore, who fans in Poland may be familiar with from his fight against Mateusz Rêbecki in the UFC.
Kevin Lee and Saul Almeida will fight a duel on November 15 at the Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA 8 gala at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi.
