Khamzat Chimaev and Arman Tsarukyan fought a grappling duel at Hype Reality 3, two top UFC fighters faced each other despite a significant weight difference.
Khamzat Chimaev and Arman Tsarukyan met on the mat in a grappling duel. Khamzat Chimaev normally competes in the middleweight category, while Arman Tsarukyan fights in the lightweight division. Despite the significant disparity in weight and size, the fighters of the UFC organization showed a lot of their ground skills.
Of course, the dominant party in the clash was Khamzat Chimaev, which should not be surprising given the definite advantage in strength and physical conditions. On the other hand, Arman Tsarukyan was doing his best not to be martyred by his bigger rival, and he was doing quite well.
Chimaev’s duel with Tsarukyan, which took place outdoors at the Hype Reality 3 gala, can be seen in the video below.
Khamzat Chimaev is ranked third in the UFC middleweight rankings. The Chechen in his last bout quickly defeated Robert Whittaker with which he opened the door to a fight with Dricus Du Plessis for the championship belt of the 84-kilogram division.
Arman Tsarukyan will get his championship opportunity sooner than Chimaev. The lightweight contender will fight for the belt as early as January 18 at UFC 311. The Armenian will face the excellent Islam Makhachev at the Los Angeles gala.
