Khamzat Chimaev turned to Dricus Du Plessis, and the African did not remain indebted to the contender and quickly replied.
There are many indications that a fight between Dricus Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev will happen soon. The UFC middleweight champion mentioned in a recent statement that he has already fought Sean Strickland and would love to face another opponent.
Khamzat Chimaev posted a post on the X platform where he tagged Dricus Du Plessis. The Chechen-born fighter uploaded a photo of Donald Trump pointing at his target. Chimaev also added an emoticon of eyes suggesting that it was Stillknocks he had his eye on.
The African was quick to respond by posting a photo of his teeth. This is probably a reference to the fact that Robert Whittaker, who had dental problems fought against Chimaev and suffered a serious injury. Du Plessis probably wanted to indicate that he is fine with his health.
Du Plessis vs Chimaev duel will take place in February 2025 at the earliest. However, it is possible that the fighters’ clash will have to wait even longer if the UFC organization does not suit such an early date. After that, however, Ramadan will begin, which will last all of March, and it will not be a period conducive to hard training for Chimaev.
