KIWI: GÓRAL is a tough guy, which he proved in more than one fight. He has fought for big federations, so it promises to be an interesting fight. And whether I should now fight a Pole or someone from a foreigner is irrelevant to me.
You’ll have to wait for a rematch with ZIOMUS since he’s fighting for the NITRO belt. If he wins against Luta, will you pursue talks of a rematch already for the belt?
For now I am not looking so far ahead. I’m concentrating on the upcoming duel.
Do you have a sense of lost first chance? Previously, you won 3 fights at GROMDA, and Mateusz Ziomek won one.
I was winning everything until the first defeat happened. I made a mistake, because with my thoughts I was already in the fight for the NITRO belt, and this also probably had an impact. There was no concentration and I got caught in the first round with a punch to the ribs. I was violated and fought for almost 10 minutes with five broken ribs.
What would you change today in your way of boxing with Matthew Ziomek? If it were possible to turn back time….
Rather, I would not change anything, just be more focused on the course of the duel. Because, as I mentioned, I let myself be surprised, and then it was already hard to fight in such a state.
Who is the favorite in the duel for the NITRO category championship?
I’m putting 55/45 on LUTA . And because Maciek Grzegorzewski because he is mega resilient and this may prevail.
In 2024 and 2025 you fought two battles each on GROMDA. What’s the plan for 2026?
After the fight I will be wiser, because I can’t hide the fact that motivation mega dropped after the defeat. And the goal is a little bit away. I, regardless of whether I win or lose, am thinking about the farewell fight and I don’t know if it won’t be my “last dance”.
Do you have any idea what possibly next?
I would stay with combat sports, young people flock to them, so I would develop my followers. We’ll see what happens after May 29.
What have you been able to strengthen, improve recently? What did you pay attention to in your preparations?
I certainly know my body more now, and what I have been working on I will show in the ring.
Do you cooperate with your brothers?
I train at KiwiorBoxing and am assisted in my preparations by my brother Maciej, sometimes still the oldest of my siblings Krzysiek.
What do you think about the idea of unifying belts in GROMDZiE, i.e. Don Diego with ZIOMUS/Luta? Who would be the favorite?
It’s hard for me to imagine that someone that much lighter or anyone could win against Diego, so I would bet on Matthew.
The countryman was the most difficult opponent? More difficult than Chmielewski, Warekso, Prabucki?
Whether he was the most difficult, it’s hard to say, because I entered the fight nicely until I broke my ribs. After that it was a hunt for one punch and standing still, but no surprise.
