Krzysztof Jotko will be the second Pole in the Oktagon MMA tournament in the middleweight category, whose prize will be a championship belt and one million euros.
The Octagon MMA organization has strongly surprised Polish fans. First it was announced the participation of Piotr Wawrzyniak in a tournament in the middleweight category for one million euros. Unexpectedly, it was announced that the second Pole on the grand prix schedule will be Krzysztof Jotko.
The former UFC fighter has inked a deal with the Czech-Slovak organization after a brief episode in the PFL. Krzysztof Jotko will take part in the tournament up to 84 kilograms, and his opponent in the first round will be Ion Surdu, known for his three KSW federation appearances.
Surdu has decided to make a surprising move. The Moldovan-born fighter won the vacant Oktagon MMA welterweight championship belt in his last appearance. Nevertheless, instead of defending the trophy, Dracul decided to enter the tournament in a higher weight division.
In addition to the Jotko vs Surdu fight, all other Oktagon tournament fights in the up to 84 kilogram division have been announced. Piotr Wawrzyniak will face Mark Mazuch, and David Zawada will face Matej Penaz. Champion Kerim Engizek got an opponent who lost two of his last three fights, however, Salamone competed in the lightheavyweight division, so he may surprise fans in a clash with the UFD Gym representative from Turkey.
