The KSW Federation is changing the rules and starting with the KSW 113 gala, it is introducing point deductions for exceeding the weight limit. All because of the fighters’ lack of professionalism.
In recent months, during the morning weigh-ins before KSW galas, there have been numerous instances of fighters failing to meet weight limits. The whole situation embarrassed the sporting director, who had already announced before the Szczecin gala that he would appeal to his employers to punish the fighters more strictly.
KSW Federation has issued an official statement conveying the changes from the KSW 113 gala. Martin Lewandowski and Maciej Kawulski, the owners of KSW have acceded to the suggestion of Wojslaw Rysiewski and from the next gala in Lodz will be deducted points for not meeting the weight limit.
The KSW organization announces that starting with the XTB KSW 113 gala, any fighter who fails to meet the weight limit during the morning weigh-in prior to the gala, in addition to the regulatory deduction of a % of the payout, will also be penalized by a one-point deduction on the scorecards in the first round at the start of their fight. The penalty will apply to any fighter who fails to fill the limit within the regulatory time limit, i.e. on the eve of the event during the morning weigh-in and a possible extra hour.
