The KSW chief spoke on the potential KSW Colosseum 3 gala, plans for the event depend on the decisions of Mamed Khalidov and Mariusz Pudzianowski.
The KSW Federation has twice held grand Colosseum galas at the National Stadium in Warsaw. When would another such event be held? The KSW office has concrete plans to organize another huge gala.
Martin Lewandowski was a guest in the studio of Denika Sport, where he made it clear and explicit that the federation is not planning another edition of Colosseum in 2025.
– This year, definitely not. Next year? There are plans, but it depends on what happens with the fighters. I have fighters whose future we don’t know.
The discussion about the KSW Colosseum 3 gala continued and the KSW chief commented that the stadium is booked for 2026 and 2027. Lewandowski admitted that the huge venue can only be sold out if Mamed Khalidov and Mariusz Pudzianowski enter the round cage.
–Will they retire? They used to fight to earn a living, now they fight for challenges, on special occasions. We have plans to return to the National next year, I have booked it for 2026 and 2027.
– Yes, the stadium can only be sold out with Mariusz Pudzianowski and Mamed Khalidov. Without them, you won’t fill the stands. If you have a big arena, you can sell half the tickets, but the stadium will look like it’s empty. We don’t want that.
It seems that the KSW boss has quietly admitted that at this point there is a lack of younger stars who would draw more fans to the stands. There is, of course, Arkadiusz Wrzosek, who could probably sell more than 5,000 tickets if matched with a recognizable challenger in a championship fight, but other fighters are far from the popularity of the excellent kickboxer.
