Wojslaw Rysiewski KSW sports director commented on the contracting of Hanka Gelnarova. The Czech celebrity has been posting controversial videos online.
Hanka Gelnarova has signed a contract with KSW and will make her debut in the round cage on October 19 at the KSW 99 gala in Ostrava. At this point we do not yet know the rival of the Czech celebrity, who won the freak championship belt of the Clash of the Stars organization.
Wojslaw Rysiewski, sports director of the KSW organization, was a guest in the studio of the FanSport portal, where he was asked about the hiring of the fighter. Rysiewski admitted that the KSW office was aware that Gelnarova had been publishing controversial, even silly videos on her online profiles.
– No well I don’t think we missed anything. We knew about it, we considered it. I don’t think any person calmly considering the subject has any doubt that it was a really stupid, immature, irresponsible video, but, well, you can’t accuse this girl of some extreme views.
– Like what she did after the incident, she apologized, and also sent money to an appropriate foundation dedicated to commemorating the victims of World War II. Well really, I think we are also known for our harsh reactions to some moral situations or inappropriate behavior of players, but we also believe that everyone deserves a second chance. You can’t give up on someone for such an absurd and childish mistake.
Wojslaw Rysiewski stressed that the KSW federation has contracted fighters many times in the past to wring out ranges and attract new fans. The sports director gave several such examples.
– This is not some new trend, because this is an old trend. After all, there have been various fights in our country starting from Mariusz Pudzianowski through Popek, Fear, I don’t know… Akop Szostak. How do we feel that there is someone who is doing coverage, and at the same time wants to develop as an MMA fighter, and it will not just be based on some things that are happening around. There is a genuine desire there to measure themselves in sports fights then we do such things.
– The fact that they weren’t taking place, well we didn’t really need that in this system of 12 galas a year in viaplay to generate that kind of momentum. But we are entering a new market, and in fact it’s a bit of a coincidence because we announced a gala in Ostrava, we heard back from Hanka’s management that she would like to try this sporting path, that she sees her place, that she would like to do it with us. We decided that we would give her a chance because you can see enough of this passion and desire for this sport in her to try something like this. This is some kind of additional fight on the card, the tenth. Even if someone is totally uninterested in it, they can go out during this time, make tea. But I don’t recommend it because regardless of the level and whether Hanka will be a good MMA fighter someday, her fights are certainly very impressive and fans should not get bored.
