KSW’s sporting director explains the decision on the catchweight for the Andrzej Grzebyk vs Muslim Tulshaev fight at KSW 110 in Rzeszow.

Over the weekend at KSW 108, it was officially announced that Andrzej Grzebyk and Muslim Tulshaev will face each other in the fight of the night at KSW 110 in Rzeszow. This event will take place on September 20 at the Podprom Arena, so there are barely two months left.

KSW sporting director Wojslaw Rysiewski explained even during Saturday’s gala that these were difficult negotiations, as Grzebyk was planning a later return after his fight with Bartosinski. However, the federation was courting Andrzej to appear in the fight of the evening at the gala in his city.

– It was not a question of rival, but of timing. Andrew fought a very tough fight in April, which cost him both physically and mentally a lot. On the one hand, it is known, Rzeszow, his place. We really wanted him to be in the main event, but on the other hand, he wanted to fight this fight a little later.

Andrzej Grzebyk wanted to return at a later date, but eventually a suitable compromise was found and worked out, which just happened to be the contractual limit of up to 80 kilograms.

– On the other hand, in fact, everyone wanted this fight of Grzebyk vs Tulshaev to happen. We found a certain compromise, the contractual limit of 80 kilos. Thanks to the fact that we raised the limit, the fight was possible on this date. I think that fans in Rzeszow and in front of TV sets will get the fight that everyone has been waiting for since January.

Fans are happy that this juxtaposition has been achieved. The catchweight itself is of little importance here, and may work in favor of both fighters, who won’t have to cut as much weight.
