Ali Abdelaziz manager of top fighters revealed that if Paddy Pimblett jumps Justin Gaethje in line to fight for the belt then the American will retire.

The situation in the lightweight division is not the clearest. Ilya Topuria, as champion, fought his last fight at the end of June. Many of the other top lightweights on the UFC roster are just waiting for their bouts.

One fighter is clearly aggrieved by how things turned out at the top after Islam Makhachev switched divisions. Justin Gaethje defeated Rafael Fiziev earlier this year and hoped that this would only seal his status as a top contender.

Unsurprisingly, however, the matchmakers of the best MMA league in the world still have not matched Highlight against the champion. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that the American will celebrate his 37th birthday in 10 days. It should also be remembered that Gaethje has fought only five fights in three years, two of which he lost before time.

Manager reveals Gaethje will retire

Nevertheless, Ali Abdelaziz who cares about Justin Gaethje’s career believes that the American deserves to fight for the belt. The manager makes things clear and suggests that if Paddy Pimblett jumps him in line for the title then Gaethje will simply end his career.

– The UFC is waiting for the result of the fight between Islam and Jack Della Maddalena. They are probably also waiting for the outcome of Tsarukyan’s clash with Hooker. I will say this, Justin Gaethje never breaks his word and if Paddy Pimblett jumps him in line to fight for the belt then Justin will retire and never fight in the UFC again. Gaethje did what the organization wanted him to do, and what did Paddy Pimblett do to get ahead of him?

Undoubtedly, Gaethje’s retirement would be a blow to fans who have already had to come to terms with Dustin Poirier laying down his gloves in the cage this year. However, it should be remembered that the UFC office does not particularly like fighters who try to force things on Dan and company with threats and blackmail.
