Marcin Held will be the reserve in the championship fight at KSW 101 in Paris. The excellent grappler talked about the duel with Davy Gallon.
Marcin Held will fight his next KSW fight at December’s KSW 101 gala in Paris. The Pole, who has starts in Bellator, UFC, PFL and ACA, is slowly starting to climb up the KSW federation rankings. Marcin Held gave an interview to Jarek Swiatek. During the conversation, a question was asked about whether Held is disappointed about not appearing at the KSW 100th anniversary gala in Gliwice.
Here is what Held said on the subject.
– A little yes, already friends were prepared to go to this gala to cheer me on. Unfortunately… well, the KSW authorities and Wojek Rysiewski planned to put me on the schedule of the gala in Gliwice, but it turned out that there was no suitable opponent for me on that date. It was impossible to make a fight that would make any sense. Only the next such specific, cool fights could be February/March. I did not want to wait until then.
Marcin Held admitted that he accepted the offer to fight Davy Gallon, as he did not want to wait until next year. The Tyszanin will also be a reserve in the championship fight. Held is not counting on Parnasse or Varela getting injured just quietly preparing for a clash with an opponent who also has a past in Bellator.
– In France, this gala is also not ranking-significant because Davy Gallon is not a fighter who is ranked higher somewhere. It makes some sense for KSW because they know that there is another fight on this card (KSW 101) at the same weight, which is a fight for the belt. Two Frenchmen are fighting each other well, and Wojek told me right away that I will be a reserve right away for that fight. If something happens there I will have the opportunity to jump into that fight of the evening. Of course, I don’t set myself up for this, I don’t count on it. I’m focused on the fight with Gallon, but that was such a goal and sense for KSW, for which they let me into the Paris gala.
