Marcin Różalski announced the end of his long-standing combat sports career after a draw with Mariusz Wach. After the gala, Różal commented on the decision.

Marcin Różalski officially announced the end of his combat sports career after his fight with Mariusz Wach. After many years of competing in many formulas in his last appearance, Różal fought a duel in his crown discipline, kickboxing.

The fight with Mariusz Wach was full of impressive exchanges and lifted fans from their seats. Marcin Różalski talked about his decision to end his career in a special interview with Jarek Swiatek recorded on the backstage right after the Strike King 3 gala.

– This was one of the reasons for the decision. After two years of separation from the ring, the cage, it was hard for me to digest it again. Sitting in that locker room for those nine fights, it was hard…. Michal Materla was with me, the guys from my team: Robert, Kamil, Artur, Michal, Filip. And you know Materla says to me: “Enjoy the moment, rejoice every moment. You’ve put pressure on yourself, and you said that grizzled people can do it and so on.”

– You know maybe in the subconscious I wanted to prove to myself and others. There is maybe a partial truth in that. Maybe it also caused more stress before the fight. I know that the preparation for this fight cost me a lot. I believe that I am no longer able to go higher. I am 46 years old, I did not save myself. Well, and now I am paying for it.

– I visualized this fight differently and arranged it in my head. Well, but there is a saying the concept of the fight ends after your first failed action. The middles didn’t go in because Mariusz shielded the liver very nicely, maybe one or two went in. After those four-five high kicks they were no longer so meaningful. I saw that in the second round Mariusz connected and he was floating, but it was the end of the round. I’m glad that entered that front wrapped such a brazilian kick as Glaube Feitos kicked, the memory returned. Well, and those exchanges, that I was hitting in those exchanges. Maybe it was the ring rust, because I hadn’t been for a long time…. but Mariusz was certainly mega prepared tactically.

Asked about the illegal kicks to the crotch delivered by Mariusz Wach, Marcin Rozalski replied.

– Three times I got (kicks to the crotch). It’s not like I have a suspensor, he will move, press somewhere there well and there was discomfort. This minus point I don’t know if it was needed or not. You know, the result doesn’t bother me, because it wasn’t about the result I think. The fight was between two old men in their fifties. I’m 46, Mariusz is 45, two fighters who have really done something in their sport. I think you could watch it and there was some adrenaline. My assumptions… I was to knock out with highem, cut with lows, or liver. Unfortunately, none of those things went.

Marcin Ró¿alski on the moment when he made the decision to end his sports career.

– I never allowed myself that I would end my career officially. Anyway, we talked about it many times. Jarek is just hard for me already, I’m already fighting ku**a with windmills you can say. Well, and with Lukasz Jarosz I talked here. Lukasz says: “I don’t know what to tell you”. Well, and I said to myself as I was entering the ring, going through the ropes, that either now or I will have to fight again with all this.
