Marek Samociuk announced today who he will face in the quarterfinals.

– Today at 8am the draw for my opponent in the Rizin tournament took place. I will fight on May 4 in Japan at the legendary Tokyo Dome against Daniel James, who is an experienced PFL and Bellator fighter. I will be posting all the information here also keep your fingers crossed and we will hear from you.

Daniel James is an extremely experienced fighter who has starts in ACA, Bellator and PFL. The American is well known to Polish fans, as he has fought at ACA galas in Lodz and Warsaw. It was at events in Poland that James defeated Michal Martinek and lost to Daniel Omielańczuk.

The 43-year-old Chicago fighter has recorded, in his last six appearances, as many as five victories. Despite his age, James is still an extremely dangerous fighter. This result would have been even better had it not been for the fact that the outcome of the James vs Fortune duel was declared a no contest. The American connected his opponent with a powerful punch, and in the ground and pound attack, the opponent changed position exposing the back of his head, and James inadvertently hit the back of his opponent’s head with elbows.
