Marek Samociuk will compete in the Rizin Federation Grand Prix in the heavyweight category. The Pole will start competing on May 4 at a gala in the legendary Tokyo Dome.
Marek Samociuk will represent the KSW federation in the eight-man heavyweight grand prix organized by the Japanese federation Rizin. The Pole was among six participants in the tournament, whose names were announced today at a press conference. The two remaining fighters will be announced at a later date.
Marek Samociuk currently has a string of three wins in a row. The Uniq Fight Club fighter defeated Olegs Jemeljanovs, Denis Gorniak and Filip Stawowy consecutively. Samociuk knocked out the first two opponents while with the third he gave an excellent knockout fight.
In addition to Samoytuk, the Grand Prix will feature Tsuyoshi Sudario, Shoma Shibisai, Mikio Ueda, Jose Augusto and Alexander Soldatkin. Of those listed, on paper the favorite to compete is Jose Augusto, who has fought in Bellator and will represent the American LFA organization during the tournament.
Marek Samociuk will fight a quarterfinal bout at the Rizin Otoko Matsuri gala, to be held on May 4 at the Tokyo Dome. It will be a big event, and one of the fights of the evening will feature Kleber Koike Erbst, who will defend his belt in a bout against undefeated Razhaballi Shaydullaev.
