Marian Ziolkowski and Aymard Guih will face off at KSW 106 in Lyon, a clash of highly ranked lightweight fighters that could determine a contender for the belt.
The XTB KSW 106 gala in Lyon will feature a strong clash between former KSW lightweight champion Marian Ziolkowski and Aymard Guih of the winner of three European MMA organization belts and number seven KSW ranking. This Polish-French confrontation of Ziolkowski vs Guih in the light heavyweight division will take place at the Real Cup of Nations, which will take place on May 10 at the LDLC Arena.
Marian Ziolkowski sat on the KSW light heavyweight throne for two and a half years. During that time he defended the title three times. He was scheduled to make his fourth defense at the XTB KSW Colosseum 2 gala, to face the then interim champion Salahdine Parnasse. Just before the clash, however, he suffered an injury and the bout did not take place. Ziolkowski then relinquished his belt, which thus ended up on the Frenchman’s hip.
After a break from competing, the popular “Golden Boy” returned to competition last April, but in his fight with Wilson Varela he suffered a shoulder injury and had to acknowledge the superiority of his rival. Now he will reappear in the round cage and will be looking to get back on the road to victory. Ziolkowski is a very experienced fighter. He has over 30 fights to his credit, 25 of which he won, and as many as 19 times he finished his rivals before time.
Aymard Guih remains undefeated in the KSW cage. In his debut in the organization he defeated Francisco Barrio, and in his second bout he won against Dawid Smielowski. The Frenchman has been competing in professional MMA since 2012, during which time he has fought 33 fights, 19 of which he won. During his prolific career, he won the welterweight championship belt of the Swiss Hard Fighting Championship organization, and later won the welterweight and middleweight belts of the French Hexagone MMA brand.
Guih, who is a black belt in judo, has gathered experience fighting for organizations such as Bellator and Cage Warriors, among others. Outside his home country and Poland, he has competed in England, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Italy and Switzerland.
