Could Mariusz Pudzianowski have joined GROMDY? It turns out the matter was much further along than it might have seemed. Mariusz Grabowski revealed that he tried to contact the former KSW fighter and make him an interesting offer.

Fans will get to see another GROMDA event as early as September. In the main event, Mateusz “Don Diego” Kubiszyn will defend his championship belt. Although the organization has not yet officially announced the challenger’s name, Mariusz Grabowski suggested in an interview with Fansport TV that everything has already been decided, and fans can guess who will face the undisputed champion.

Grabowski tried to call “Pudzian”

During the conversation with Piotr Mąkosa, the topic of Mariusz Pudzianowski also came up. The former world strongman champion mentioned some time ago that he wouldn’t rule out a bare-knuckle fight with Michał Materla. It would be a rematch of their memorable bout in KSW, which ended with a heavy knockout of “Cipao.” So it’s no surprise that fans have started wondering whether GROMDA will try to run with this idea.

As it turns out, Grabowski did indeed take the first step and wanted to talk to “Pudzian” about a possible collaboration.

– I had a proposal for Mariusz Pudzianowski and wanted to talk to him, get him involved, and invite him to a meeting. You could call it a friendly business conversation. I tried to call Mariusz, and he replied, “We’ll talk on the phone.” And unfortunately, that call never happened.

The head of GROMDY admitted that he hadn’t brought up the subject again after the last incident. At the same time, he didn’t rule out that if the opportunity for a face-to-face meeting arose, he would present his proposal again.

– That was before the gala, Mr. Grabowski continued. – After the gala, I didn’t try it again, and I don’t think I’ll try it again. If Mariusz feels like it, or if I happen to be passing by Mariusz, I’ll just stop by, since I’m heading that way anyway… I have a great idea. I think Mariusz would go for it.

– But like I said, our meeting didn’t happen. Before GROMDA 25, I had a great offer to make it happen, and I think Mariusz would have agreed to it. I’m not saying anything right now—I don’t want to jinx it.

Although Grabowski did not reveal exactly what the offer entailed, his statement clearly shows that the possibility of Pudzianowski joining the team was a real one. For now, the parties have not resumed talks, but the head of GROMDY is keeping his options open. If the right moment arises, it’s possible he’ll try again to convince one of the biggest stars of Polish combat sports to join forces with him.
