Mateusz Gamrot has received assurances from the UFC organization that he will jump in as a replacement if one of the participants in the lightweight bout scheduled for UFC 314 gets injured.
Mateusz Gamrot has been waiting for a long time for a chance to return to the octagon of the UFC organization. The Pole is ranked eighth in the light heavyweight division, and it will soon be the eighth month since Gamrot’s last fight in the world’s best MMA league.
It’s high time for Matthew to finally fight another bout. It turns out that Gamer still hasn’t signed a contract for his next bout. However, the fighter of American Top Team and Red Dragon clubs received a promise from the matchmakers of the UFC organization.
Mateusz Gamrot after talks with UFC
Mateusz Gamrot revealed details of his talks with the UFC in a recent interview with Super Express. During the extensive conversation, he relayed what matchmakers assured him of.
– The UFC 314 gala is scheduled for April 12 in Miami, where the fight card is already filled. Scheduled is a fight in the lightweight category Michael Chandler vs Paddy Pimblett. I’ve been assured that I’m in prime position to jump in as a replacement should something happen to either of them. I’m on standby for this gala all the time. If I don’t perform in Miami, I am supposed to be offered another fight in the near future.
The UFC 314 gala is fast approaching, and so far there doesn’t seem to be any chance of Matthew jumping onto the schedule. Both Michael Chandler and Paddy Pimblett regularly post photos and videos of their training sessions. So what if a replacement doesn’t make it in?
Matthew said that in that case he will want to bring a rematch fight with Beneil Dariush, as several other fighters have already scheduled combinations, and others are his clubmates with whom he trains every day.
