Mateusz Gamrot is candid about the end of his fight with Charles Oliveira. The Pole stressed that if he had not taped out the submission he probably would have suffered a fracture of one of his skull bones.

Mateusz Gamrot last weekend faced Charles Oliveira in the fight of the evening at the UFC gala in Rio de Janeiro. Unfortunately, the skirmish with the legendary Brazilian did not go the Polish representative’s way. The Red Dragon and American Top Team fighter lost by choke from behind in the second round.

During a lengthy conversation with Maciej Turski of the Sports Channel, Gamer pointed out that Charles Oliveira simply did not stop in the octagon and seamlessly transitioned from one submission attempt to another.

Matthew Gamrot candidly commented on the end of his fight with Charles Oliveira and told what he felt when Do Bronx clamped his hands on his jaw.

Mateusz Gamrot accurately described the feelings he had during the final action of his duel with Charles Oliveira.

– If I hadn’t slapped that, my skull would have cracked, or my jaw for sure. It wasn’t a choke, I don’t remember what kind of choke Narkun did on Celinski, but it was here I’ll tell you, the edge on the jaw here, on the bone.

Mateusz Gamrot continued to describe the situation he found himself in after Charles Oliveira went behind his back. The Pole made it clear that if he had not taped out there could have been a situation where he would have ended the duel with a broken jaw.

– When he pressed it I tried to push that hand, that elbow up simply so that you know it wouldn’t go to the neck. The harder he pressed, the harder I pushed it the more it started to crackle in my jaw simply. If I didn’t tap it I think I could have been there with my jaw broken (end up) and there would have been an even longer break.

Matthew Gamrot has announced a short break and rest from training. Gamer will most likely return to competing in the first part of 2026.
