Mateusz Gamrot talked about his plans to return to the UFC octagon. The Pole assured that he is ready to fight another fight and reported this information to matchmakers.
Mateusz Gamrot fought his last bout in August when he lost to Dan Hooker by decision of the judges at UFC 305. The Pole first planned to return to competition at the end of the year, but it did not happen.
Mateusz Gamrot was a guest of Artur Mazur on the Klatka po Klatka program where the men talked about Gamer’s future in the best MMA league in the world. It turns out that the Red Dragon and American Top Team fighter has approached the UFC about contracting his next fight.
– The UFC has the green light from my side that I am ready to fight. And I’m just waiting for them to make a move, at what point and in what direction they want to push me.
Mateusz Gamrot indicated that he wanted to fight a rematch with Rafael Fiziev, however, the organization’s matchmakers were not interested in this matchup at this time.
– The UFC has some other idea about it, so I’m waiting. It seemed to me to be a logical juxtaposition at this point, especially since the first fight ended how it ended. No one is happy about it, so it would have made sense for us to fight again, but nothing went further.
The 34-year-old fighter also talked about the challenge he issued to Paddy Pimblett. Gamrot suggested a fight with the wonky Englishman. At this point, unfortunately, there is no answer on the matter.
– I made a proposal to the UFC, but I have no answer. Maybe there is some analysis in there, but I don’t know anything more.
