Mateusz Gamrot responded to the words of Szymon Kolecki. The lightweight athlete referred to the statements of the Olympian.

Mateusz Gamrot fought his last fight in the UFC at the end of May. The Pole gave no chance to Ludovit Klein and scored a confident victory after a unanimous decision by the judges. Upon his return to the country, Gamer met with a large group of journalists.

Mateusz Gamrot spoke with Andrzej Kostyra, among others, during the media day. It was not a long interview, however, during the conversation the editor quoted the Olympian’s words from an interview with the FightSport portal, suggesting that Kolecki had put a pin in Mateusz.

Of course, this is only an excerpt from Szymon Kolecki‘s statement, which nevertheless also included a lot of superlatives for Gamrot.

– Szymon Kolecki put a gentle pin in you. I might quote: “He will never be spectacular, because he doesn’t have an anvil in his hand, he doesn’t have tremendous destructive power. Instead, he has excellent technique, great fitness, great conditioning and psychology, but he’s not Gaethje, not Poirier or any other destroyer.”

Mateusz Gamrot responds to Szymon Kolecki’s words

Mateusz Gamrot has responded extensively to Szymon Kolecki’s statement. The top lightweight fighter said.

– Mr. Simon I invite you (laughs). I don’t know what to say… well, because I respect Szymon very much as an Olympian simply in weightlifting. In MMA it’s hard for him to speak out because there is a very big gap between us.

– Of course I accept his words, he can think what he thinks. In a way I can agree with it because with this technique, with this psyche and with this flexibility well, hardly anyone would catch up with me. I don’t knock out my rivals, that’s also simply a fact, so I can simply accept his statement. No problem, but these are also not the kind of things that will prevent me from becoming a world champion. All the strengths that were mentioned lead me to be the best.

Mateusz Gamrot noted that he respects Szymon Kolecki for his Olympic achievements, but stressed that in terms of strictly MMA skills there is a gulf between them.
