Mateusz Gamrot is set to fight one particular opponent. The Pole wants to face Sean Brady at the UFC gala in London.
Mateusz Gamrot fought his last fight on October 11, when he had to acknowledge the superiority of Charles Oliveira at the UFC gala in Rio de Janeiro. The Pole then jumped into the fight at the last minute, which unfortunately translated into his disposition, as he was totally dominated and quickly finished by the Brazilian.
It’s been almost two months since Gamrot’s last fight, and the fighter has been spending his time actively including scoring two camps. Matthew will fly to Florida in two weeks to prepare for his next fight at American Top Team.
Mateusz Gamrot set to fight a specific opponent
Mateusz Gamrot, in an interview with Przegląd Sportowy, hinted at who and where he wants to fight next in the UFC.
– I’m leaving on January 20 or 21 for ATT. I spoke with Dan Lambert, I threw very eagerly the name of Sean Brady, that with him I would like to fight. A very strong fighter, number seven in the welterweight division, which is the category above. He said he would like to go down a category, I was mentioned somewhere in his expectations. For me a great stylistic clash. A small, very strong tur, grappler, plus a big name in the United States.
Mateusz Gamrot has apparently not yet received any official offer from the UFC, as the Pole himself is curious to see who the matchmakers will offer him. Gamrot also added that he hopes to perform at the London gala.
– We will see who the UFC will offer, I threw the date of March 21, which is a gala in London, close to Poland. I’ve fought 2-3 times, won every time. It would be great for media coverage.
Gamrot, 35, has so far fought twelve fights in the UFC octagon with eight wins and four losses. Gamer has scored two losses in his last three bouts, which could have a decisive impact on what kind of opponent the matchmakers of the world’s best MMA league will offer him.
The Pole’s suggestion, Sean Brady, has so far fought in the welterweight division and has repeatedly appeared in bouts of the evening, co-main events or simply fought in the main cards, so both athletically and media-wise he is a dream opponent for Gamrot.
