Mateusz Gamrot has revealed that he turned down an offer to fight at a UFC gala in February. The fighter said it would have been too soon because he needed time to prepare.
Mateusz Gamrot last checked into the UFC octagon in October 2025. Thus, it has been three months since the Pole’s fight, and fans were eagerly awaiting news regarding Gamer ‘s return to competition.
A few days ago Gamrot announced that there would soon be an announcement on the next bout involving him. Naturally, this stirred up anticipation even more strongly, with fans and industry experts outdoing each other in suggesting who the Red Dragon and American Top Team fighter’s opponent would be. Along the way, one big name dropped out, as Sean Brady conveyed that he would not be able to go down to the 70 kg limit, however.
Mateusz Gamrot turned down an offer to fight in February
Unsurprisingly, before noon today Mateusz Gamrot relayed in a report on IG that he had received an offer from the UFC to fight in February but turned it down.
– Being completely honest with you, I already got an offer to fight, but for February. I said it was a little too soon. The rival as much as possible ok, but I don’t want to act crazy, as I did in the last fight. So I’m in a state of readiness, in a state of good training. I’m flying to the States right away, a little acclimatization and I’ll be brewing and waiting for more news. Also something is happening, it will be great. Greetings to everyone and have a good day.
This is not good news, because knowing the approach of matchmakers, it is not impossible that now Matthew Gamrot will have to wait a long time for another proposal, and this, of course, means that the return will be prolonged in time. This, in turn, may affect the fact that Matthew will again fail to fight three fights in a year.
