Mateusz Gamrot has expressed his desire to fight Paddy Pimblett at the UFC gala in London. This means that the Pole is ready to enter the lion’s den and fight the Englishman on his turf.

Mateusz Gamrot is currently ranked eighth in the UFC lightweight rankings. The Pole has been trying to jump to the top of the 70 kilograms division for years, and for a while he was listed in fifth place.

Unfortunately, in his last appearance Matthew lost to Dan Hooker which caused him to drop lower, and above that he is starting to miss fights with his biggest rivals. From week to week new bouts are announced, and Gamer still remains without an opponent and without a date for his return to the UFC octagon.

Matthew has apparently decided to take matters into his own hands. The Red Dragon and American Top Team fighter commented on a post suggesting a fight between Gamrot and Paddy Pimblett at the UFC gala in London.

– Sounds great. Paddy are you ready?

The Pole wants to fight the Englishman on his home ground. This means that Matthew is once again ready to take a big risk and, as in the case of the skirmish with Hooker, fight a duel on foreign soil, where the fans will be a wall behind their favorite.

Without a doubt, a Gamrot vs Pimblett fight would be a heavily media event. The snag is that ranking-wise there is little to gain while a lot to lose, as a loss to the Englishman would mean a farewell to the top ten.
