Matheus Scheffel and Michal Martinek will meet in a clash of top heavyweights to be held at KSW 108 in Olsztyn.
The XTB KSW 108 gala in Olsztyn will feature a bout in the royal weight class, in which Brazilian Matheus Scheffel (18-12), the number five ranked heavyweight, will face the number seven of the list, the top Czech fighter in the royal weight class, Michal Martínek (11-6). The confrontation will take place on July 19 at the Urania Hall.
Matheus Scheffel has had three fights in the KSW round cage. In his first two fights he faced former contenders for the belt – he lost to Darko Stošić and defeated Szymon Bajor. The last time he competed was last November, but he had to acknowledge the superiority of Arkadiusz Wrzosek. Scheffel has so far fought 31 fights, eighteen of which he won. The Brazilian most often wins by sending his rivals to the boards. As many as twelve times in his career he won by knockout, and eleven times he finished his opponents already in the first round of the bout. Before joining KSW, he competed under the flag of the American organization Professional Fighters League, where he fought for the heavyweight championship belt. He gathered experience mainly in Brazil and the USA, but also fought in China and Wales.
Michal Martínek has five fights under his belt in the KSW organization. He last fought in October last year and lost to Štefan Vojčák. Before that, he sent Prince Aounallah to the boards, for which he was awarded a bonus. The popular “Blackbeard” is a former heavyweight champion of the Czech-Slovak Octagon MMA organization and a top Czech fighter in the royal weight category. He has been fighting in professional MMA since 2016. He has eleven wins to his credit, eight of which he won before time, seven of them by knockout. Four times he has finished his opponents already in the first round of a bout.
