Mauricio Ruffy has named a rival from the UFC’s top 10 lightweight rankings after a spectacular knockout at UFC 313.
Mauricio Ruffy recorded the most valuable victory of his career to date. On Saturday at a gala in Las Vegas, the Brazilian knocked out King Green in beautiful style. Such a knockout at a big gala, in front of more than 18,000 fans will probably make Mauricio’s popularity and marketing value shoot up.
Ruffy won, and his victory was described as an early candidate for the knockout of the year award. It should come as no surprise, then, that the Brazilian was highly satisfied with his performance at UFC 313.
– I’m very happy with this win and I’m glad that I got such a great opportunity. I think I have lived up to my hopes and I have repaid the UFC for their trust. We are working very hard in the team and will continue to do so. I even practiced this kick in the locker room.
Mauricio Ruffy now wants to face a specific opponent from the UFC ‘s top 10 lightweight rankings. The Brazilian has hinted at the name of the opponent.
– You guys don’t really have an idea of my skill level yet. I want to face a strong grappler and wrestler. I have a lot more to offer than you think.
– Beneil Dariush. I want to become a UFC champion and get a chance to fight for the belt as early as possible. Together with the team, we believe that this name will bring us closer to a championship bout. That’s why I want this opponent.
