Merab Dvalishvili suffered an injury to his little toe two weeks before his rematch fight with Sean O’Malley at UFC 316 in Newark.
Merab Dvalishvili is set to defend his championship belt of the cockfighting division at the UFC 316 gala, which will take place as early as June 7 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The Georgian will again face Sean O’Malley, from whom he took over the championship title.
Merab Dvalishvili is known for not calculating. The UFC champion does very strong sparring even a dozen days before a gala. In the past, Dana White has complained more than once about Dvalishvili, who once boasted a deep cut and at other times presented a broken nose.
This time is no different. A few days ago, photos hit the web showing that Merab had a sizable cut on his face. When this passed without much notice today a video appeared on the profile of one of Dvalishvili’s clubmates, in which the Georgian shows his foot with an injured little toe.
Despite the injury, Dvalishvili gushed with humor and joked that he would cut his finger if necessary and everything would be ok. Of course, there are still two weeks until the gala, so everything should heal in time. This kind of injury should not significantly hinder Merab from finalizing his preparations for his second fight with O’Malley.
