Michael Bisping criticized Alex Pereira for flying to the other side of the world. According to the Englishman, when the Brazilian will be helping Strickland then Ankalaev will take the time to train.

Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev will duel on March 8 at UFC 313 in Las Vegas. At stake in the clash between the Brazilian and the Dagestan will be the UFC welterweight championship belt. While the contender is training hard, the champion went to Sydney, Australia to stand in Sean Strickland ‘s corner at UFC 312.

The decision by Poatan’s staff has triggered an avalanche of comments online, as flying to Australia a month before the event could negatively affect the Brazilian’s fitness and form. Of course, some fans praise the fact that Pereira is supporting his colleague, but there has been a lot of criticism among experts.

Michael Bisping on his youtube channel joined the ranks of those criticizing Pereira’s decision and coach Plinio Cruz.

– The reality is that Alex Pereira will fly to the other side of the world a few weeks before his championship fight with Magomed Ankalaev, who many believe is the toughest opponent for him in the welterweight division. People say it’s a bad idea. Although Daniel Cormier made a statement on the subject and said that after flying to Australia you have to deal with jetlag, get used to the food there.

Michael Bisping nodded to Daniel Cormier ‘s opinion and pointed out that Alex Pereira is unnecessarily preoccupied with other things instead of focusing fully on training as Magomed Ankalaev does.

– The training regime will not be the same, along with the rest of the preparation. These are valid observations, and in the meantime, while Pereira is at it, Magomed Ankalaev is training murderously to beat him. Because if Pereira beats him, he’ll become a real legend, but as long as he’s standing in Sean Strickland’s corner doing these different things, he’s not working on his fighting style, he’s not defending his takedowns and so on. What’s going on?
