Michael Chandler reacts to Patricio Pitbull’s move to the UFC

Michael Chandler reacted to Patricio Pitbull’s move to the UFC organization. The American has fought the Brazilian in Bellator in the past.

Michael Chandler left the Bellator organization in late 2020 to join the UFC. A few years later in January 2025, a similar path was followed by Patricio Pitbull Freire, who will make his UFC octagon debut at April’s UFC 314 gala in Miami.

Michael Chandler was a guest on Ariel Helwani’s show, where he had the opportunity to speak on Pitbull’s move to the best MMA league in the world. It is worth mentioning that Chandler lost to Patricio while he has two wins over Patricky, the older of the Freire brothers.

– I’m not surprised. Just like I’m not surprised by the whole list of fighters who are washing dirt on Twitter and attacking Donn Davis the head of the PFL organization. It just reinforces my belief that the UFC is the best and only legitimate MMA organization in the world. I’m the best example of that, and if you ask Patricio about it in a year or two, he’ll probably honestly tell you how great the difference is between the UFC and the previous organizations he fought for.

Michael Chandler stressed that if Patricio Pitbull approaches the matter properly and achieves good results then he will quickly come out on top of the change of employer.

– If he plays the cards right and gets the job done he will see how in what a lucrative place he has found himself. Honestly I have a good perspective on it all, I have a valuable perspective and I can say that I love the UFC not because it’s the UFC. I just love the UFC because I know what everything outside that organization is like.

Michael Chandler and Patricio Pitbull will appear at the same gala. At UFC 314 Chandler will face Paddy Pimblett while Freire will fight Yair Rodriguez. This event will take place on April 12 in Miami.
