Michal Michalski unexpectedly announced his departure from KSW shortly after the announcement of his next fight. The veteran wants to fulfill his contract and look for another organization.
Michal Michalski currently has a string of four wins in a row. The experienced fighter had hoped that at the earliest opportunity he would be given the opportunity to fight for the KSW championship belt in the middleweight division. However, this did not happen, and although Michalski signed a contract for a fight with Damian Janikowski, he did not hide his disappointment with the decisions of the matchmaker and the owners.
Michalski gave a long interview to Bartosz Olesi of Polish Fighters Info. During the conversation, a question was asked about the future. Michalski is not satisfied with the fact that in the absence of a Pawlak vs Kuberski matchup, he was not offered a fight with the division champion.
Michal Michalski announces his departure from KSW
Michal Michalski is on the KSW 113 card mainly because he will jump in as a replacement in case of injury to Pawlak or Zerhouni. Michalski frankly admitted that he sees that consecutive wins in the round cage do not give him much so he intends to fight two fights in KSW and walk away.
– I have two fights left in my contract and I think I will fill it. I’m not going to wait for that fight for the belt. I win these fights and nothing happens in that direction, so I just have to look at it a little differently. Fight, earn myself, etc. It is known that there is still this desire in me to fight for the belt, I would like to become a champion and only later retire from the sport, but what if that doesn’t happen? Therefore, I will fight the fights that I still have left in my contract, fulfill my contract well and goodbye.
Michalski has been fighting in KSW since 2018. In his last eight fights he lost only once, when he had to acknowledge the superiority of Adrian Bartosinski in July 2021.
