Michal Oleksiejczuk is confident ahead of UFC 319 and says he is capable of surprising Gerald Meerschaert in the UFC octagon.
Michal Oleksiejczuk will return to the octagon at the UFC 319 gala in Chicago. The Pole will face a tough fight against the hosts’ representative, the experienced Gerald Meerschaert. However, let’s not forget that the older of the Oleksiejczuk brothers also has many fights in the UFC to his credit and is used to competing against fighters from the world’s best MMA league.
Gerald Meerschaert has been fighting in the UFC since December 2016 and has been checking in regularly in the octagon. Nicknamed GM3, the fighter is approaching the limit of 25 fights in the organization. The 37-year-old American has already fought three Poles. Gerald defeated Oskar Piechota and Bartosz Fabinski, and lost to Krzysztof Jotko.

Michal Oleksiejczuk gave an online interview to reporter Michal Tuszynski of FanSport TV. The Hussar emphasized that he is looking forward to the fight with Gerald Meerschaert.
– I will go out and I am prepared for anything. I’m looking forward to this fight, whether it’s going to be stand-up or whether it’s going to be ground-and-pound I’m ready as always. It’s going to be a great fight I’m going there for the performance of the evening.
Michal Oleksiejczuk is confident ahead of his bout with an experienced rival. The Pole noted that he has developed strongly thanks to his training in the Brazilian club Fighting Nerds.
– I think I can surprise him and next week I will prove it. I’m really in good shape, I’m ready, I’ve changed a lot. I have added a lot of different things to my game, which I will show on Saturday. I am young further on, I am still learning, and now the conditions are favorable for that. I have very good sparring partners, a good team, and I have made a lot of progress.
